Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes what data the game Devourer of Words (“Пожиратель слов”) (the “Game”, the “app”) collects, how it is used, who it is shared with, and what rights you have as a user. The Game is developed and maintained by the Sofment Team (“we”).

By installing and using the Game, you agree to this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

Account deletion

1. Why an account is needed

An account is needed solely so that you can compete with other players. During registration we ask for a username, an email address, and a password.

  • Username may be fictional. It is shown only on the statistics page and in the Game leaderboard.
  • Email and password are used to sign in, recover access, and protect your account.

2. What data we collect

2.1. Account data

  • username;
  • email address;
  • password (stored only as a cryptographic hash; we cannot see it in plain text);
  • activation code and account confirmation status.

2.2. Device data

To operate the app, sync progress, and prevent fraud, we process technical device data:

  • device identifiers (device_id, android_id);
  • device model and build serial;
  • app package name and app version;
  • time zone offset.

2.3. Push notifications

If you allow notifications, we store a push notification token (Firebase Cloud Messaging) so that we can send you game notifications.

2.4. Game data

  • the player’s dictionary and words;
  • ratings and game statistics;
  • awards and achievements;
  • data used to sync progress across devices.

3. How we use data

  • signing in and identifying your account;
  • syncing game progress across devices;
  • building leaderboards and player statistics;
  • sending emails (for example, registration confirmation and password recovery);
  • sending push notifications;
  • showing ads.

4. Advertising

The Game shows ads through Unity Ads and ironSource (part of Unity Technologies). Advertising SDKs may process data on your device to display ads.

  • Non-personalized ads. Ads are selected without using your advertising profile; only a minimally necessary set of technical data is processed.
  • Personalized ads. If enabled, advertising services may use the device advertising identifier (for example, Google Advertising ID, GAID) and other data to show more relevant ads.

You can limit ad personalization or reset the advertising identifier in your device settings (Privacy / Ads). For details on how advertising services process data, see their policies:

5. Sharing data with third parties

We do not sell your personal data. Data may be shared with the following service providers solely for the purposes described above:

  • Unity Ads / ironSource — serving ads;
  • Google Firebase Cloud Messaging — delivering push notifications;

Data may also be disclosed if required by applicable law or to protect rights and security.

6. Account deletion and data retention

Users of Devourer of Words (“Пожиратель слов”) may request deletion of their account and associated personal data at any time, without reinstalling the app. This action is irreversible.

Method 1. Self-service deletion on the website (recommended)

  1. Open the account page: https://devourerofwords.sofment.org/account
  2. Sign in to your account.
  3. Tap Удалить аккаунт (Delete account).
  4. Request a confirmation code sent to the email used at registration, enter the code, and tap Подтвердить удаление (Confirm deletion).

After successful confirmation, the account and associated data on our servers are deleted immediately and permanently.

Method 2. Request via support

  1. Email wordhunt.studio@gmail.com.
  2. Send the request from the same email address used to register the account. This confirms that you own the account.
  3. Use the subject: Account Deletion Request / Запрос на удаление аккаунта.

These requests are processed within 7 calendar days of receipt.

What is deleted

The following are deleted completely and permanently:

  • profile: username, email, password hash, activation and recovery codes;
  • game progress, statistics, awards, player dictionary, and settings;
  • word requests, session tokens, push notification tokens, and related device identifiers.

What may be retained

We may temporarily keep limited technical records (for example, security and anti-abuse logs) when required by law or to protect the service, and then delete them. Advertising partners (Unity Ads / ironSource) process data under their own policies; we do not control their systems.

7. Your rights

With respect to your data, you have the right to:

  • correct inaccurate data;
  • delete your account and associated data (see section 6);
  • withdraw previously given consent to processing.

8. Children

The Game is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from such users. If you believe a child has provided us with their data, contact us and we will delete that information.

9. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. The current version is always available on this page, and the last updated date is shown at the top of the document. We will try to notify you of material changes.
